今天中午走進便利商店
電台播放著Alanis Morissette的You Oughta Know
忍不住跟著唱了起來，呵呵，好熟悉呀

Alanis已經愈來愈不憤怒了
取代而之的是Avril Lavigne
但怎樣也讓我覺得那股頭上冒煙的力道已然消失
轉而成為泡泡糖般的流行歌曲不禁想起另一位搖滾怒女Paula Cole
她的This Fire專輯因為電影X情人預告主題曲
I Don't Want To Wait，在台灣紅起來（但電影很難看）
以批判戰爭為出發點的歌詞，
把生命不可浪費的真理如佈道般地宣示

整張專輯佳作連連，如第一首Tiger那有點恐怖的吶喊
還有第二首Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?
控訴愛情不可靠的尖銳歌詞，
站在揚揚塵土中質疑愛說謊的牛仔男性
唉，誰說情話可以相信？

Throwing Stones此曲則更是爽快！
從第一句So call a bitch in heat, and I call you a liar
And we will throw stones until we're dead開始就三字經連連
就可以知道後面一定很火爆...
意外的是，後面竟加入了有如神來之筆叫媽媽的哭腔哀嘆，哇哇
唱起來真的很過癮～

讓我也來急轉直下，見識Paula Cole不只會罵人，
還可以溫柔地唱情歌，雞皮疙瘩掉滿地！
Carmen一曲接在Throwing Stones後還挺諷刺
情人間一顰一笑的動作啦、舉止啦，皆溫柔地唱著

另外一首相當喜歡的是Me
自我追尋的詞義，雖然現在看起來有些說教味
但當初考大學前一天很緊張的時候
也是靠著反覆聽著這首歌才平靜下來
（雖然成績是沒有提高多少啦）

自從第一張專輯Harbinger受到矚目，
This Fire獲得葛來美最佳新進藝人獎
但可惜到第三張專輯Amen時，就變得不憤怒了（跟Alanis很像吧）
雖然未嘗不是件好事，
但曲風較為平板、不那麼出色也是不爭的事實

因為女兒的關係休息了好一陣子
現在的她已經搬到紐約，正在籌備最新專輯當中
讓我們拭目以待吧...
